About Pickleball Lookup
Pickleball Lookup is an independent research tool for pickleball players: a structured database of 130 paddles scored on 15 Paddle DNA™ traits, head-to-head comparisons, and a court finder with sourced, dated facts. It is not a blog and it is not a manufacturer showcase.
Who builds it
The site is built and edited by Alex Zubarev, a Jacksonville, Florida player who has been on the court since 2021 — often twice a day, seven days a week. That play experience shapes what we score; the database keeps the conclusions honest.
How the analysis works
Every paddle is normalized onto the same 15 traits — power, control, spin, forgiveness, hand speed, twist weight and the rest — from published specifications, manufacturer data and independent measurements where they exists. Verdicts and comparisons are derived from those numbers, so two paddles are always judged on the same scale. The full scoring approach is documented in the methodology.
What we will not do
- — Claim we played a paddle we have not played. Reviews are labelled by basis.
- — Invent court amenities. Unverified fields stay marked unverified rather than guessed.
- — Let a commission decide a ranking. See our affiliate disclosure.
Court coverage
The court finder started in Northeast Florida because that is where we play. Some listings carry our own photos and first-hand verification; the rest are assembled from public sources with the origin and date recorded on each field. Browse the court finder or courts by state.
